Grain Recipe: Millet Kasha with Cottage Cheese (Tvorog)
Ingredients:
Millet (8oz)
Tvorog (8oz)
Water (20oz)
Butter (2oz)
Sugar (2oz)
Serves 4
Cooking Instructions
1. Rinse millet with boiling water
2. Combine millet with hot water
(20oz)
3. Bring to a boil, add salt
4. Reduce a heat, simmer and stir occasionally removing foam if required
5. Cook until kasha is half ready (grains are chewy but crusty)
6. Add butter, sugar and Tvorog (cottage
cheese). Mix well
7. Cook until ready
Comments:
You can use milk instead of water
This whole
grain recipe can be used to cook a
great breakfast.

Grains Fact: Oats are never sold with the hull on for eating, so look for "oat groats", their least-processed form which can be used in the same ways you would use wheat berries.
