Grain Recipe: Pshennaya Kasha (vegetarian or vegan
recipe, easy side dishes recipe)
Ingredients:
Millet (8oz)
Water (20oz)
Vegetable Oil or Butter (2oz)
Serves 2
Cooking Instructions
1. Rinse millet with boiling water
2. Combine millet with hot water
(20oz)
3. Bring to a boil, add salt
4. Reduce heat, simmer and stir occasionally removing foam if required
5. Cook until kasha thickens and all water gets absorbed
6. Stir in salt and butter
7. Put the lid on tight, wrap the cookware with
kasha in a blanket and leave for 1 hour
