Grain Recipe: Carrot
Oatmeal (vegan or vegetarian recipe)
Ingredients:
Rolled Oats / Oat Flakes (16oz)
Water (24oz)
Salt (2tsp)
Vegetable Oil (3tbsp)
Carrots (4)
Serves 4
Cooking Instructions:
1. Cut carrots
2. Combine carrots with 8oz of water, steam until carrots are tender
3. Drain water and set carrots aside
4. Combine oat flakes with water
5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until all water is
absorbed
6. Now, check if oats are ready – they should be tender, not
mushy
7. Mix chunked carrots with oats, oil and salt in frying pan; cook on medium heat for 5-10 minutes constantly stirring to prevent sticking and
burning

healthy vegan or vegetarian whole

Grains Fact: Just because a recipe "sounds” healthy doesn’t mean it is. For example, “multigrain” only means that the food will contain more than one grain, not that whole grains were used.
